The vampire invasion resumes!  I've hinted at this secret of the Dross Mercenaries/D-Squad since I brought them to Angel Falls.  I also hinted at it back when I was writing CoH fan fiction.  The idea for me was "These are supposed to be expendable troops, but they keep coming back, with the same names..." so I figured they're a cheaper version of cyborgs like David Ingraham.  Not as much strength, not as resilient, plastic parts as opposed to Ingraham's completely alloy frame...  They usually come equipped with explosives, too, but Justin doesn't like wasting resources like that, so they actually have chemical sprayers instead.

As for the imagery of the vampires...  The phrase that Kolt uses, "Chiropteran," sums it up well.  It's the phrase used for the monstrous vampires in Blood: the Last Vampire (yes, I DO watch Anime from time to time).  The imagery for their leader here, though...  I just kind of cobbled an idea together.  He's sort of a blend between a Dark Elf and the Ethereals from X-Com: Enemy Unknown/Within.  Mind you, this is A leader, not THE leader.  I've got no clue what the overall metaplot for this event is, so I'm just kind of running with it.
